Āki Innovations Ltd (Āki) is a Kaupapa Māori social enterprise, led by two wāhine Māori of Ngāti Maniapoto, Whakatōhea and Tūhoe descent who are motivated to nurture whānau wellbeing by unpacking complex intergenerational challenges.
We’re looking to work with those that are grounded in a Kaupapa Māori approach of ‘by Māori, for Māori, with Māori, in a Māori way’ and welcome allies to journey with us.

Led by two wāhine Māori, Marcia Ranginui Charlton of Ngāti Ruapani and Tūhoe descent and Marlana Maru of Ngāti Maniapoto and Whakatōhea descent, we want to tautoko people's journey of wellness - Ākina te Mauri.
Together with our amazing team, ĀKI offers support with injury rehabilitation, connections into Rongoā Māori and guidance through Kaitiakitanga. We uphold the right to assert and determine our own health, wellbeing, and aspirations through mana enhancing practice.

ĀKI Innovations (ĀKI Rongoā) secures Ministry of Health Rongoā Māori contract to provide services across the Waikato DHB region.
ĀKI Innovations (ĀKI Rehab) secures Training for Independence contract with ACC.
Covid 19 hits Aotearoa New Zealand, first lockdown begins
ĀKI Innovations registers with the New Zealand Companies Office as a Limited Liability Company.
Marlana and Marcia attend the raw and powerful movie `Waru'. This was the catalyst for action. A must see for all New Zealanders.
Marcia works under Training For Independence Contract for 12 years.
Marlana engages in child protection, social work education and community social work provision.
